Loren Sweigart, Managing Director
Number Navigators exists for owners who don’t just want their books done — they want to actually use their numbers to run a better business.
I’m Loren Sweigart, Managing Director. For more than 30 years I’ve sat in sales, operations, M&A, advisory, and finance seats across multiple industries. That mix lets me see both sides of the equation: what’s happening inside your accounting system, and what’s really happening on the ground in your business.
Today, I work with leaders to build an accounting and finance function that does more than keep score. We design books, reports, and rhythms that support profitable growth, smarter decisions, and fewer financial surprises.
You get a hands-on partner who is as comfortable rolling up sleeves in the GL as talking strategy in the boardroom — practical guidance, dependable support, and clear recommendations.
Making good decisions requires good information. When your numbers are late, messy, or confusing, you’re forced to manage by gut feel — and that gets expensive fast.
At the same time, pulling yourself or your team away from your core work to manage the books comes with its own cost. Hours spent wrestling with accounting are hours not spent serving customers, leading your team, or growing the business.
That’s why more growing organizations choose to outsource their finance function.
With Number Navigators, you don’t just hand off bookkeeping tasks. You gain:
You stay focused on what you do best. We make sure the financial side of the business is not only handled, but actively helping you move forward.
We’re based in Los Angeles, CA, and work with clients across the U.S. (and beyond). Our team is made up of experienced professionals who are business people first and accounting people always — not just data-entry bookkeepers.
We understand how accounting decisions impact cash, margins, growth, and ultimately the value of your company. Our job is to connect those dots for you, so your numbers become a tool for strategy instead of a source of stress.
You don’t need a full in‑house accounting department to get CFO‑level clarity. We can act as your bookkeeper, controller, and fractional CFO — or plug into just the pieces you need.
Every engagement is tailored to your stage and goals, so you get a right‑sized, cost‑effective finance function that supports growth instead of just recording it. You and your team stay focused on running the business; we make sure the numbers are accurate, understandable, and useful.
Clean, current books are the foundation of everything else we do.
We handle the day‑to‑day accounting work so you have accurate, timely financials and don’t have to think about debits, credits, or closing the books.
Typical monthly bookkeeping retainers for businesses are from $500–$3,000+/month, depending on transaction volume, complexity, entities, and how much we’re handling (AP/AR, payroll coordination, reporting cadence, etc.).
Very small organizations (including some nonprofits) may fall below this range; larger or more complex operations may be above it.
In practice, that can include:
When you’re past “just keeping up with the books,” you need someone looking ahead with you.
Our FP&A and fractional CFO services are for owners who want ongoing planning, forecasting, and decision support, not just historical reports.
Typical work includes:
Most ongoing advisory clients invest from $2,500–$10,000+/month for fractional CFO support, depending on size, complexity, and cadence of meetings and deliverables.
Project‑based FP&A and CFO engagements (for example, a fundraising model, dashboard build, or sale preparation) typically start around $3,000 and can range higher with scope.
We don’t just “do the books.” We build a high‑functioning accounting and finance function that business owners can actually run the company from.
That means accurate numbers, meaningful reporting, and conversations that turn those numbers into decisions. Our goal is to close the gap between how small business accounting usually works and how an enterprise‑level finance department operates.
Efficiency is one of our mantras. We combine seasoned experience, the right technology, and practical processes to keep your workflow timely and controlled.
You get fast, reliable closes, strong financial controls, and fewer surprises — without having to build a full in‑house team.
We price based on the stage and complexity of your business, not a one‑size‑fits‑all template.
We look at factors like transaction volume, number of entities, industry, and how much of the process you want us to own (from basic bookkeeping through full fractional CFO support). Then we design a scope and fee that makes sense for both sides.
After a short conversation, we’ll outline the work and give you a clear proposal so you know exactly what you’re getting and what it will cost before we start.
